The Wilkinson Family came into the studio to get family pictures taken for Christmas. Along with getting a nice family portrait we decided to have some fun with the kids & take some unique shots. They turned out really cool & everyone enjoyed them. I hope you do to....

Michele & Adam's Reception 11/20/2010

Michele & Adam were married in the Caribbean & came back to share their excitement with their family an friends. I had the honor of photographing their reception. The dress she wore for her wedding was on display in the main entrance which i thought was a very cool idea. They had a very entertaining band which kept the party going.

A Photographers Wedding: My Engagement Session

I have shot thousands if not hundreds of thousands of photographs of couples throughout the years. Most are nervous, uneasy in front of the camera, a bit shy and really unsure of the way they will look in the pictures. It has always been my job to not only take these clients photographs but make them at ease and try and capture the real souls that lie within these people. A few weeks ago I got to experience the way my clients feel first hand.....

On August the 1st on a small front porch of a wonderful Bed and Breakfast in

Rehobeth Beach Delaware I proposed to the woman of my dreams, and she said yes. Well being a photographer the first question that was ask when the planning began was"who will take your pictures". I am very fortunate to have a twin brother, Jason, who shares the same profession as me and a slew of wonderful photographer friends at my disposal. When we started this process I thought it would be fun to share our journey of this planning process from a photographers view point. And so here goes.

We wanted a destination wedding of sorts but didn't want it to be to far away that no one would attend. We wanted our guest to be able to get away for the weekend and enjoy themselves but wanted to be realistic as well with everyones travel. We chose a cool site located in Deep Creek Maryland. It is a quaint Bed and Breakfast called The North Glade Inn. The inn was perfect of us and had enough space for our wedding party and family to stay ....

Our wedding is scheduled for October 1st of next year so we though it would be nice to visit the Inn the same time of year this year to see what the surrounding fall foliage would like like and to do our first engagement session. My parents and my brother and his fiance joined us and we were able to shoot our pictures that day.

Tyra is my fiance and the love of my life. She is a wonderfully talented hair and makeup artist and just a beautiful person inside and out. I knew that she would be beautiful in photographs but it was me that I was worried about. When the session began I thought I knew what I would do. The proper way to relax in front of the camera and the feeling of being the center of attention was no different for me than for the many couples that I have shot. It was a different prospective for me being on this end and one that I think was a learning experience. As the shoot went on it did get easier and we were able to just act as if there wasn't anybody else around and that this moment was just about us. We enjoyed ourselves immensely, and were very happy with the pictures that my brother Jason shot for us.

Over the next several months I am going to try and share some of the fun moments form our prospective of the planning of our wedding. I am no expert at this but being in the industry I do have a lot of insight that might be useful to some of you that read this blog. This first post will be our engagement session at Deep Creek and we hope that you enjoy looking and reading.... I will be back soon with our next adventure.
