Brittany & Joey 9/8/2012

(Ceremony Site:) Maryland Theater  Hagerstown, MD
(Reception Site:) Fairplay Banquet Hall   Fairplay, MD

From the moment Brittany ask us to shoot her wedding I just knew this was going to be one of extreme fun and great pictures! Brittany and Joey were not your typical bride and groom and they definitely did not have a typical wedding.  Their event was held at the historic Maryland Theater in Hagerstown MD and under the bright spotlights is where this couple belonged. They were definitely the stars of the day and they made our jobs incredibly easy with their natural ability to dazzle the camera. Their Punk Rock style and their hip attitude is what made this wedding special. From Chuck Taylor's to Vans, to BMX bikes everything about this wedding was fun fun fun! They were married on the stage under the bright lights and it was a show to be seen.  Brittany's dress was amazing and the whole wedding party looked like Rock n Roll. Brittany came down the isle in the rays of a spotlight and her entrance was one of the best I have ever seen. After the ceremony we spent over an hour being creative with this crew because it was hard to not get a good shot. This truly was a dream wedding for us and even know there was bad weather outside we were able to accomplish a lot in the theater. Their reception was lavishly decorated in pink lights and their wedding party entered through the haze of smoke and strobe lights with each guy riding in on their BMX bikes. DJ Sidekick pumped the tunes and the drinks were flowing as were the good times. The evening was a blast and I thoroughly enjoyed this one. To Brittany and Joey, thanks for making our jobs pleasurable... you are the reason we do this.... enjoy

Lauren & Ed 9/1/2012

(Ceremony Site:) St. John's Church 2nd street
       Frederick, MD
(Reception Site:) Dutch's Daughter
     Frederick, MD

Ok... being that I am a HUGE Baltimore Orioles Fan, and that the Orioles and the Yankees are battling it out right now for a chance at the ALCS and a World Series bid,  this Yankees themed wedding was, still a blast to shoot! Lauren and Ed were married on September 1st in historic downtown Frederick but we started the day off with the girls at Lauren's parents home where they had a man cave full of Yankee memorabilia. It was quite fun trying to incorporate her wedding details in with the Yankees trinkets but I think we came up with some very entertaining things.  Along with a Yankee basement, the Hammond's had a lovely home and made our crew feel welcome the entire day. Its so nice to be made to feel like part of the gang at these events and it really ads to our experience and creativity level. Ed and the guys were waiting at the church when the bride arrived and down the aisle she went. Their service was set in the beautiful St John's Catholic Church on Second Street in Frederick and there were no shortages of tear jerking moments. After the service we spent time with the bridal party downtown at Carroll Creek and then off to the Dutches' Daughter for the reception. The Dutches' Daughter is alway a fabulous venue in which to work and again the family and guest were so enthusiastic it was hard to not find a good picture in the place. The baseball theme was carried through throughout the night. There were ball tickets for the place settings, Lauren and Ed each had a jersey with their name on it that the guest signed and the the father of the bride gave periodic updates of the ballgame score as the evening went on. It was a pleasure to work with Lauren and Ed and their families. The best part about our jobs as wedding photographers are the relationships that we get to make and this event allowed us to gain not only clients but friends as well..... enjoy

Desiree & Yaw 8/25/2012

Ceremony & Reception Site: Ceresville Mansion Frederick MD
Florist: Flowers by Orie
Tables designed by Premier Party Rentals

This wedding season has been a tremendous one for us here at Turner Photography. With the advent of Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram and all the things that allow brides to view and get ideas we have seen some amazing decor and wedding details like never before. Desiree and Yaw were right at the top for the beauty of their wedding.  Their event was held at The Ceresville Mansion in Historic Frederick MD. This site is a top notch wedding venue catering to the DC Metro area and is a phenomenal place in which to work . The staff there is impeccable and the service they provide their client is unmatched. Desiree and Yaw were an extremely nice couple to work with as were their entire families. They had people come from far and wide with quite a few of their guest coming from as far as Africa.  There was a little bit of weather that day but after some brief discussion they took a chance and held their service outside and it paid off. The rain blew over and the excitement of the day made everyone forget about the weather. Desiree was a pleasure to shoot. She was focused and full of ideas and she really helped us complete her vision.  We are very lucky to have such wonderful clients and the chance to shoot in such beautiful locations as these. We hope you enjoy......

Christy & Steve 8/24/12

Ceremony Site: The Admiral Fells Inn, Fell Point Baltimore MD

In today's wedding industry there are many venues that couples can choose to host their special day. There are mansions, vineyards, churches and then there is Fells Point! Christy and Steve went for the gusto with this location! They were married on a pier in Baltimore near the popular hot spot where most people go to drink and be merry. This couple chose to drink and get Married!!! From the second we arrived we knew that this wedding was going to be one to remember.  Chrsity and Steve chose to see each other before their nuptials, as some couple do now, and we took advantage of the time we had to meander around town and capture them in some unique places. Fells point provided us with numerous "cool" locations and I have to admit it was a photographers dream! We always try to connect with people and this was no different. From the beginning Christy and Steve made us all feel like part of the gang and we enjoyed spending their day with them. This will be one wedding that sticks out in my memory and I hope you enjoy taking a look......

Karsten & Jason 8/4/12

Ceremony Site: St. Mark's Lutheran Church
                            Hagerstown, MD
Reception Site: Dutch's Daughter
                         Frederick, MD

Being a wedding photographer is something that I never thought about much when I first was interested in taking pictures. The thought of spending my saturdays during the summer was far from my mind as was the idea of taking photographs of anything other than rock bands. Well 10 years later and 300 weddings in the past I must say that the joy of spending these special moments with some of the coolest, nicest people was the best decision I ever made. Karsten and Jason were one of these special couples that make this lifestyle so worth the effort and time we put into it. With so many of our couples, our time with them, although in most cases its the entire day, goes relatively quickly. We need to concentrate on the business at hand when we have our opportunity to pose them and be creative on the fly. For Karsten and Jason this task couldn't have been easier.  They were married in a beautiful church in Hagerstown MD and fortunately we had great weather for our outdoor photos at The Hagerstown City Park. Their service was very elegant and the church photographed really well. The time I got to spend with them before their service was very nice and allowed me to be very creative with the "preparation" shots. This part of the day is my favorite time. Its really when I get to be the fly on the wall and and find a spot to observe and look for things. There is a little coaxing along the way as well but is cool to see them dressed and ready before they get to see each other. After the service I took advantage of the beauty of the church. The wonderful window light allowed me to easily shoot them without the constant reminder of the flash popping and they didn't feel as if they were being  photographed. The Park, although hot, was pleasant to work at as usuall. It is nice having a place you are totally familiar with as well to make things move along quickly. Karsten and Jason held their reception in Frederick MD at The Dutch's Daughter, which is a very nice elegant restaurant with the perfect room upstairs for receptions and events. My second favorite time of day is when we get to eat and The Dutches Daughter never disappoints! Their reception was all about family and friends and they chose to not have the abundance of wedding rituals that most of us see when we attend weddings, which made for a very relaxing, intimate atmosphere. For Karsten and Jason I don't think the day could have been any better and for me its not just another number but a memorable experience that I can build on and remember.... Enjoy

Kathy & Charles 7/22/12

On the 22nd of July Kathy and Chic were married at the Strong Mansion in Dickerson MD. The Strong Mansion has an array of gorgeous sites and is always a great place to capture great images. This day was no different. Kathy and Chic were the type that didn't enjoy being in the spotlight. Being the host of one of the biggest party's of your life is a very stressful thing and having family and friends from all over can bring joy along with anxiety, but these 2 did a great job and showed everyone an awesome time. They chose a wonderful site, some awesome food and great music. The catering was by Canape's, which served a variety of non traditional items from quesadillas to pork sandwiches. The cake had a bicycle theme and was made by Canape's as well. Over all it was a fabulous wedding by a fabulous couple. We hope you enjoy! (Ceremony & Reception Site): Strong Mansion Dickenson, MD
