Lauren & Ali 6/9/12
There are many cultures with many different wedding customs. When we get the opportunity to photograph a wedding from a different culture it is always a pleasure. As photogenic as the traditional American ceremony can be, a cultural wedding ceremony to those that don't get to witness them that often are quite fun and refreshing. Ali and Lauren's wedding was one of them. They had a very short American service followed by a traditional Persian service. The Persian service was something that I had never seen and was very cool. With its ornate decorations and family evolvement the 45 min service was full of entertaining elements. The bride and groom sat for the majority of the service while their relatives and parents showered them with love and gifts. The Persian women hung various necklaces around Lauren's neck while Ali was given a very nice watch. This wedding was set in a conference room at the Clarion hotel in Shepherdstown WV. Typically these rooms are very tough to photograph in but with the flexibility they gave me on where I could go I was able to overcome the challenges and get some touching photographs. Ali and Lauren have been friends of ours for a while and it was a pleasure photographing them on this special day!
